something is wrong with the cr@ck. doesn't start playing. normally you do the tutorial and then go on with the levels. saw that in spintops installer. please if you can, take a look and fix it. thank you. |

the only way I could get it to work at all was to play the one hour demo from another site first, then uninstall the game then reinstall the game that is here. It saved my info from the demo game and with the new game I could continue on. BUT if I start a new player name within that game it won't work like everyone else is stating here. Hope this helps someone! |

Thank you InspectQr and KCW69 before that for the updates on how to use the game. I couldn't find a players.xml file anywhere, so I'm going to follow the other option. I hope it works because I enjoy the time management style games.
This site is the BEST site out there for sharing and I appreciate it so much!! |

InspectorQr, What if I do not have the specified folder you have listed above? Can I paste that Player.xml file into the location where I have the game installed? If not, how do I find where the player.xml file is located for the first game I installed and ran a demo on? (It was from another site see my post above please) OR is there something else I should try?
BTW, I did a search on my entire computer for the word "Astar" and there were no folders with that word anywhere. I don't know if it is a good idea to post the entire pathway name of where I installed my game here, but I will tell you that it is C drive and the last two names at the end of the folder pathway name is "Dondurmania/Ice cream mania" I am not even sure that is helpful info as I am a newbie to all this. :) After I played the demo, I uninstalled the game and then downloaded the game above and my game info from the demo was still there and I continued on, when I tried to play under a new name is when I realized there was a problem and then I came here and saw that others were having probs too. I want to use your solution so I can create multiple names in the game will that be possible? Thanks for your time and any help would be appreciated. K.

Hi InspectQr, Well, I enabled finding the hidden files as you said and then I ran another search and still no results for the word "Astar" I searched my C drive and "My computer" The results showed "No files or folders". Since I have the game installed, could I paste the "player.xml" file in the folder the game is installed in? Would that work? I am so confused! LOL Thanks for all of your help. Hopefully I will get it working soon! K. |

su player dosyasını ben de denedim ama söyle bi problem var sanırım c klasöründe oyunun bi dosyasının olması için (astar games veya her neyse onun altında) oyunun yüklenmesi gerekir öncelikle ama oyun rar dosyasından setup olarak çıkmıyo zaten yüklenmiş gibi görünerek çıkıyo?? yani en azından su anda benim masaüstümde ice cream mania olarak bir klasörün içinde kuzu kuzu duruyo ve ikonuna tıklayınca da calısıyo dogal olarak.
yine de tesekkürler her şey için çalışırsa çok güzel bi oyuna benziyo bu da |

KCW69 - I hope this helps you. I found the path here: c:/documents and settings/All users/Application Data/Astar Games/Ice Cream Mania. And Astar didn't show up in any of my searches. Each place under documents and settings (all names) had an application data but only one had Astar games. Good luck! |

Wow! Ok, Inspector and SeattleJen, I was actually able to find that folder after all. I guess I used the search feature the first time using the word "Astar" thinking that would save time, and when it didn't show up I didn't bother to look assuming it wasn't there at all, but when Jen said it didn't show up for her I did it the "Old fashioned ok let's face it non lazy) way and there it was! Now here is the tricky part. There is a folder in there that is named "cached" and there is a "players xml" file already there. I am assuming this is from the demo game I played earlier correct? What do I do now? Do I add the one that InspectorQr had me download and replace the one that was already there? Will I lose all my earlier game info under my name if I replace it and do I have to play under the name DownTurk instead of my own name? I am not sure how all this works so please give me easy steps! Thanks again you guys have been a great help and I am sorry about the confusion earlier! K. |

KCW69 - I think that yes, it will overwrite your play from earlier and yes, you'll need to overwrite the other players.xml file. To be sure - I would wait and see what Inspector has to say.

Jen and InspectorQr, Once I overwrite the player.xml file that is in that folder that I finally found, (LOL) I will lose what game progress I made in my demo game correct? If I do overwrite, will I be able to play normally with different player names? OR Will I have to use the name DownTurk to be able to play at all? I saw that at the bottom of Inspector's post and I am a little confused. Thanks again both of your for helping me! K.  |

So if you passed over the gam bug by playing demo, you don't need to overwrite Players.xml file. after you overwrite players.xml file if you want to play game with your name, you can change player name by editing players.xml file with notepad. i think everything OK now. |

The way it worked for me is - the only name I can play on is DownTurk and all played levels were lost. |

Thank you for all of the wonderful help on this issue. I have one final question if someone would be so kind to help me one last time. Ok, when I play a game, usually I will play it using my name, then I will finish the game and start another game with my name and the number 2 next to it (usually I do this to see if I can play the entire game again and improve my scores or get all advanced scores on each level). Does that make sense? Basically my question is... Because of this bug can you have multiple games or only one game at a time? Thanks again for the help! Really nice people here!  K. |

after you start another username, for passing over the bug, you must do following editing in players.xml file: 1- open players.xml file with notepad. 2- find this code. (username is your new player name) - <![CDATA[ username ]]> </Player> - <Player nFetish="00000000000000000"> 3- change like this: - <![CDATA[ username ]]> </Player> - <Player nFetish="00000000000000000" nLastLevel="1"> 4- Save and exit. Now you can play with your new username. |
